What you need before you start.
A Bybit account
A verified Bybit account with Futures enabled and some USDT in your Futures wallet. Complete identity verification first — unverified accounts can't trade futures.
A PC or VPS
Windows 10/11 or macOS (Intel or Apple Silicon). For 24/7 trading while your computer is off, a small VPS (~$5–15/mo) is recommended.
Your BybitGPT key
The license you receive after purchase. It activates the app and the AI risk filter — no OpenAI key needed on your side.
Download and run.
Download the installer from your purchase email, run it, and open the app. On first launch it will ask for your license key — paste it and activate. That's the whole install; there's nothing to compile or configure in code.
Create your keys — the safe way.
Takes about 3 minutes. Your keys stay on your own machine and are never sent to us. Follow every step — especially the permissions.
Open API Management
Log in at bybit.com, hover your profile icon (top-right), and open API from the account menu.
Create a new API key
Click Create API, choose System generated, label it ClaudeFutures, and confirm with your 2FA.
Copy both keys immediately
Bybit shows an API Key and a Secret Key. Copy both now — the secret is displayed only once.
- API Key — public identifier, used to connect
- Secret Key — save it right away; it will never be shown again
Set permissions (critical)
Edit the key's restrictions and enable only what the robot needs:
Leave Withdrawals OFF. The robot never needs it — and this means that even if a key ever leaked, no one could move funds out of your account.
Restrict to your IP (recommended)
Under IP access restrictions, choose Restrict access to trusted IPs and add the IP of the PC or VPS running the robot. Bybit recommends this for every trading key. If your home IP changes often, a VPS with a static IP is ideal.
Paste into BybitGPT
In the app open Settings → Exchange, paste your API Key and Secret Key, and click Connect. You'll see ● CONNECTED when the link is live.
Set your risk limits
Before trading, open Settings → Risk Guardian and set your risk % per trade, daily-loss limit, maximum leverage and maximum positions. Start conservative — you can always loosen later.
⚠ Never share your Secret Key. No one from BybitGPT will ever ask for it. Keep withdrawals disabled and IP-restrict the key — that way your keys can only trade, never move funds out.
Prove it before you risk a cent.
Watch it work
Run in paper mode. The engine trades a simulated balance using real market data so you can see exactly how it behaves — with zero risk.
Bybit testnet
Optionally connect Bybit's official futures testnet to see real order placement end-to-end without real money.
Go live when ready
Flip to live only when you're confident. The Risk Guardian limits apply the instant you do. Start with small risk %.
Common questions.
Double-check that Enable Futures is on for the key, and that your IP restriction includes the machine running the app. Re-copy the secret key — a trailing space is the most common cause.
Each license is for one device. If you need a second machine or want to run your own control plane, message us on WhatsApp.
